And...We have water chestnuts!

It has been long enough! A new post is happening right now and don't you know it's going to be epic.

Tonight after a long hiatus from this delicious blog and a long hiatus from my beautiful and hilarious friend Anne, I cooked and I will now share the fruits of our labor.

Chicken Stir Fry: perhaps one of the easiest go-to meals I always love and enjoy making (and anything I can legitimately put Sriracha on is good for my belly). So Anne just moved in to an adorable apartment in the Avenues, and we decided to put her fabulous new pots and pans to use (cause let's face it, unless I'm cooking at her house they may just get dusty ;) JK Anne, you're probs the only one reading this)

We started with a trip to Smith's (or was it Dan's?) for the basics, shrooms, peppers, onion, garlic, broccoli, chicken, soy sauce, sriracha, chinese noodles and my favorite addition: Water Chestnuts! (We also cheated and got one of those packets of seasoning for stir fry, which was delicious and I highly recommend).

When we arrived at the adorable apartment we started with the essentials, pouring a glass of Shiraz from the Bota Box! After our tumblers were full (let's face it, I have a problem with spilling wine!) we went to town chopping veggies, sautéing onions and garlic, boiling water for the noodles and using the George Forman to cook our chicken. The water chestnuts were in a can but alas, Anne had no can opener. So she McGyver-ed it and got out her sweet tool kit. With a screw driver and some needle nose pliers were now had water chestnuts...Now that's resourceful!

After our adventure in the kitchen (I now know what I'm getting you as a house warming present) we sat down for a delicious meal together. I couldn't have asked for a better date; she didn't even judge me when I was sucking up my noodles (Lady and the Tramp style) or when I had to unexpectedly excuse myself from the table ;)

Happy eating!
